She serves as Vice Chairperson of the Events Professionals Association of Zambia (EPAZ), Board Member of the Tourism Council of Zambia, and Chairperson of the Governing Council at the Zambia Institute of Hospitality and Tourism Studies (ZITHS). With over 18 years of experience in high-profile G2G and G2B events, she is a Certified International Convention Executive (CICE) and was named among the Top 20 Global Meetings Industry Trendsetters in 2025. She is recognized for expertise in strategic meetings, advocacy, and capacity building.

Mauritius Research and Innovation Council

Prof. Theesan Bahorun is Executive Director of the Mauritius Research and Innovation Council (MRIC), where he leads national research and innovation strategy under the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science and Research. He also serves as President of SFRR-Africa, advancing scientific collaboration in oxidative stress, free radical biology, and health sciences. Holding a personal chair in applied biochemistry, his research spans antioxidants, nutrition, and health. He spearheaded MRIC’s innovation roadmap, launched Mauritius space projects, established the SME Incubator Scheme, and developed a Gender-Based Violence Observatory. A Grand Officer of the Order of the Star and Key, he is recognized for science and innovation leadership.

Glenton De Kock is the Chief Executive Officer of SAACI (Southern African Association for the Conference Industry), where he leads strategic direction, advocacy, and member engagement across Africa’s business events sector. His career includes senior leadership roles as Managing Director of Tourism Buffalo City, CEO of Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism and the Eastern Cape Parks & Tourism Agency, and Associate Director at KPMG and Grant Thornton, overseeing hospitality and tourism advisory services. He played a pivotal role in forming the South African Events Council during the pandemic. Renowned for strategic management, collaboration, and resilience, he champions sustainability and community growth.

Professional Engineer and Institutional Development Specialist

Julius Cesar Kintu is the Interim Uganda Chapter Chair of AfSAE (African Society of Association Executives), elected during the chapter’s formation in December 2023. He is also an active member of the Uganda Institution of Professional Engineers (UIPE), committed to advancing engineering professionalism. A Certified PMP® and licensed engineer (ERB No. 1777), Kintu brings extensive expertise in project management and business development. He holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering from Makerere University and an MBA from Uganda Management Institute. He played a pivotal role in establishing AfSAE Uganda Chapter and advocates for capacity-building workshops to strengthen association management and MICE capabilities.

Regional Director for Africa at ICCA

Frank Murangwa is the Regional Director for Africa at ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association) since 2024, leading African strategy, member engagement, and advocacy for the meetings and events industry. Previously, he served a decade at the Rwanda Convention Bureau as Director of Destination Marketing, positioning Rwanda as a premier MICE hub, and managed the MICE Division at the Rwanda Development Board. Widely credited with transforming Rwanda into a competitive business events destination, he brings expertise in strategic planning, destination marketing, product development, and stakeholder engagement. He holds a Master’s in Tourism Destination Management and a Bachelor’s in Tourism.

Albertina Mella is a Tanzanian advocate dedicated to transforming mental health awareness, particularly through her work as the Founder and Executive Director of Open Up TZ. Her journey began during her Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting in 2016, where she became passionate about mental health advocacy. She is also a Mandela Washington Fellow (2025) and actively engages in storytelling and community empowerment. Her mission centers on reducing stigma and promoting mental well-being across generations in Tanzania.

Mr Jeffers is the co-founder and president of the African Society of Association Executives (AfSAE). He is the Director of Communications at the Toronto-based International Association of Agricultural Economists (IAAE) and CEO of the Nairobi-based African Association of Agricultural Economists (AAAE). Mr Miruka is the secretary and board member at the Association for Kenya Business Events (AKBE) and a Research Committee member with the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). Mr Miruka is the first international scholar with the Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP) at the Center for Association Leadership in Washington, DC.
